My Mother In-law
Every year that goes by without a mother in my life,
I forget to thank you for being there
Every year that goes by without a mom,
you keep me proper and feeling strong
Without a mother in my life, you’ve always been there,
for someone not prepared
Without my mother around,
I’ve never been quite sure I understood why I’ve never cared
Without a wonderful person as important as you in life,
I don’t want to imagine and think how or where
It is my thank you on this special day that is Mother’s Day,
that I have gratefulness in my heart
If it wasn’t for people and family like you in my life,
I would’ve just... Fallen. Apart.
